How to Turn Your Work Week into a Mini Retreat in Calistoga

Bungalow B with fireplace and work desk

You don’t need to wait for vacation to reset your mind and body.

A midweek remote work stay in Calistoga can offer the clarity, calm, and creativity of a retreat—without missing a single meeting. At The Bungalows at Calistoga, you’ll find everything you need to work productively, rest deeply, and reconnect with what matters most.

Here’s How to Create Your Own Work + Wellness Escape:

Set a clear but simple intention
This isn’t a vacation, and it’s not business as usual either. Begin your stay by deciding what you want most—whether it’s mental clarity, moving a key project forward, or simply feeling more grounded.

Structure your day, but leave room for pause
Try a flexible time-block approach:

  • Morning: Deep-focus work, fueled by fresh Napa Valley air and a strong coffee. Choose between the cozy indoor desk and hot tub or your own private patio.
  • Midday: Step outside for a walk into town, lunch at a local café, or a visit to a nearby hot spring or hiking trail. Or, just step outside with your dog and enjoy some play time.
  • Afternoon: Handle calls, light admin, or quiet creative thinking.
  • Evening: Sip wine at a tasting room, soak in Bungalow B’s private hot tub, or unwind by the fire pit with a good book.

Embrace Both Digital and Physical Stillness
Mute notifications. Step outside. Journal by the fire pit. Let the calm and quiet Calistoga streets ease your nervous system. Even a few moments of mindful pause can transform your whole day.

Don’t Over-Schedule; Let Slow In
Calistoga’s magic lies in its unhurried pace. Leave room to wander, nap, or savor an unexpected glass of wine at a vineyard you stumble upon. Doing less can mean returning to work with more energy, joy, and focus.

  • Extremely comfy and inviting. Close walk to a lot of cool venues in Calistoga. Awesome place, awesome town. Couple things 1) There is a pullout utensil drawer within the top drawer (cant believe and missed it!) and 2) I wish we would've hit more local wineries ... Clos Pegase is greatly underrated

  • My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in Bungalow B in January 2024. The bungalow is adorable and very well maintained. The fireplace made the living room very cozy and a pleasant place to sit (unfortunately, it was too cold to take advantage of the lovely outdoor space). We loved the location and parked our car when we arrived and did not get in it again until we left several days later. We walked to dinner, coffee in the morning, all the shops and spas—it was very easy to arrange transportation to the wineries, so we had no need for our car during our stay. I highly recommend these accommodations.

  • Cute, well designed cottage a block from Main Street Calistoga. Nice bedding, fireplace etc. Unit C is slightly less appealing due to proximity to parking - it would be ideal if they had a hedge / tall planters to provide a little more privacy and character. Some small details were missing (fireplace screen torn, cheap vinyl window coverings, west elm tags still on outdoor furniture)but overall this is a quality spot.

  • Wish we had more wash clothes, and towels, but other than that it was wonderful and we’re looking forward to coming back and making this a yearly trip for us. Thank you
